From the moment Victoria Schroeder of Victoria Weddings brought Christine and her mother-to-be, Debbie, into our studio and began to describe the glamorous vision for their big day, we knew we simply had to be a part of it! We had such an absolute blast collaborating and designing the florals for this wedding and we can’t wait to show you all of the pretty details! A huge thank you to Victor Sizemore for capturing every single last perfect detail so flawlessly on camera!
Christine knew that she wanted a vibrant fuchsia as her focal color paired with softer purples and pinks. Her bridesmaids wore floor length gowns and held bouquets of soft tones with pops of brighter colors. Christine’s bouquet was a very large hand tied bouquet of soft ivory, blush and lavender tones with a detailed handle finish created from textured blush dupioni silk accented by a delicate French lace appliqué and glittering rhinestones elements.
The ceremony took place in the gorgeous Cappella Ballroom of The Grand Del Mar, where we created a long aisle of delicate lavender rose petals paired with candles of varying heights and sizes. A dramatic entry to the aisle was formed with custom pedestals and tall color-blocked arrangements. We created the pedestals using pooled blush dupioni silk fabric accented at the top with our French alencon lace caps and a custom created brooch belt. Tall tapered glass vessels were dripping with glittering Swarovski crystal strands and pendants.
The über dramatic escort card display table boasted a huge 5ft tall floral arrangement so large that it drawfed the large chandelier above it. Over 20 varieties of orchids, roses, hydrangeas, spray roses and other like elements sprayed from the huge arrangement. Whimsical glass orbs and crystals hung from the floral, adding dimension and fun detailing.
Walking into this reception was like walking into a fuchsia and gold WONDERLAND. Glowing candlelight flooded the ballroom with over 25 candles per guest table and over 200 on the dramatic head table in various shades of mercury glass, cut crystal and glass. Two types of tall centerpieces graced the reception tables to be described below.
Half of the tall centerpieces were created atop a custom fabricated stand that we had created just for C & J’s big day. Dripping crystals were swaged around the stand and dripped from stand, to appear as though the huge floral centerpieces was hovering above table, dripping in glamour. These floral centerpieces were very large being about 4ft in diameter. Hours were spent hand stringing delicate rose petals to drip from each centerpiece.
The second centerpiece type was created using a color-blocking method of floral arranging, creating a crescent shaped floral arrangement.
The base decor for the guest tables was as amazingly detailed as the floral at the top with several petite floral arrangements within mirrored, bronze and gold vessels arranged atop custom platforms and layers of golden candlelight. Each footed glass candle holder had its own glittering mini brooch wrapping.
The head table was simply awe-inspiring with 3 long 6ft floral arrangements created atop table and a dense floral runner spanning the entire length of the 42ft banquet-style table.
And wait… there is more! We haven’t gotten to one of the coolest details of the evening. Their wedding cake was suspended on a crystal stand filled with lush florals at the base. The couple purchased this stand from Tamra Barney herself, of The Housewives of Orange County, who had used this stand at her wedding.
Custom white bars were accented in their center with tall, draping floral arrangements with hanging glass orb detailing.
We are still amazed by the details of this wedding and are so inspired and honored to have been a part of it!
